Roy VanderEnde Immigrated to the U.S. from Denhaag in the Netherlands in 1958.At the age of ten, having come from a family associated in the care of raising birds, he was taught at a young age by his mother in the craft of caring and proper grooming of birds.

After being discharged from the marine corp. in 1968 it became clear that he could not go back to his previous type of work. He then realized that he could go into the care and handling of tropical birds as taught by his mother.

The rest is history. His mother taught him well, and he used this knowledge to engage in full-time adventure. He can only hope that it has served all his friends and customers well.

Over the years the business has grown well through the support and trust of all his friends and clients. As many of you know, even his personal, wild-caught birds, have been tamed and trained to become TV and promotional celebrities. As time went by Casa La Parrot has successfully bred, hand fed, and raised many types of exotic birds. To mention just a few, they have specialized in raising African Greys, Macaws, Cockatoos, Conures, Cockatiels, and a variety of small birds.

In May of 2012, Roy decided it was time to retire and spend some time with his grandchildren. Doreen Plotkowski, a long time customer and friend of Roy and Casa La Parrot, purchased the store. She is now working on expanding services and products to better serve all of our customers.

Doreen is  2nd Vice President of G.L.A.S. (Great Lakes Avicultural Society) which strives to educate bird owners. Her flock consists of Tootsie, Reca, Sparky, Rosa, Casper, Cally, Baby, Bailey, Izzy, Louie and Mac.

We still offer trimmings and the personal care that long time customers are used to. We are currently working on expanding our line of food and toys.

We would like to make ourselves available to you in the care and maintenance of your precious bird.
